The Browning Safari Grade rifles were manufactured between 1959 and 1974 by FN in Belgium. The earliest models in.243 and.308 utilized the Mauser small ring action. At sometime, probably in the early 60's they switched to the SAKO action. After 1969 the serial numbers had a letter prefix followed by a two digit number indicating year of manufacture, ie: Y69. You made a great buy at $275. Rifles in 95% condition or better are highly collectable. Take care to not degrade the condition of your rifle. Sorry fellas, I found it.
